Hold fast to dreams For if dreams die Life is a broken-winged bird That cannot fly. Hold fast to dreams For when dreams go Life is a barren field Frozen with snow. I choose this poem by Langston Hughes because I believe in dreams coming true. Everyone has dreams and you can't allow anyone or anything to get in the way of pursuing your dreams. You must live everyday trying to reach your goal and hopefully living your lifetime dream. | ||

"It is difficult to get the news from poetry, yet men die miserably every day for lack of what is found there."- William Carlos Williams
I would have to disagree with what Williams is saying in the quote above. I live my life everyday without reading poetry and I personally do not feel that it would change my life in any way. If I suddenly just decided to read poetry it wouldn't change who I am. I would still be the same person as I was before I read poetry and after I read poetry.
