Jews Fighting Back

Many believed that Jews in WWII just sat back and allowed the Nazis to capture and kill them, but they are wrong. Many ghettos had underground organizations whose primary job was to wage armed struggles against Nazis. The first major civilian uprising was in the Warsaw Ghetto in 1943, that lasted three and a half weeks. In some ghettos it was too hard to get arms in the ghetto, so resistance outside killed Nazis. With the Jews being tortured, beaten, and starved it hard to say how they found the strength to fight back.
