Bread Givers

In the novel, the father is very religious.  Since the father is very into his religion and his studies he believes that women will only have the opportunity to get into heaven if they serve their husband or father well.  This is why I believe that he wants his daughters to marry rich, so they could have the best life suited for them to help them get into heaven.  This may not be the best route for his daughters because money is not better than love.  If they are not happy, they may not want to serve their husbands well and may not get into heaven.
